# Troubleshooting

## I cannot find the add button

In Claude, open **Customize → Connectors**. On Team or Enterprise, ask an owner to add Havilo. Free accounts are limited to one custom connector.

In ChatGPT, enable **Developer mode** under **Settings → Security and login**, then open [Plugins](https://chatgpt.com/plugins). If the setting is missing, check your plan and workspace policy against the [connection requirements](https://docs.havilo.ai/mcp/connect.md).

## Sign-in fails

Use exactly `https://havilo.ai/api/mcp`. Do not add `www`, a trailing slash, or query parameters. An `OAuth resource must exactly match this MCP server` error means the URL differs.

Keep automatic OAuth settings in ChatGPT. If Claude requires a manual client ID, use `havilo-mcp-prod` with no secret. Do not copy a callback URL from another connection.

If a connector with this URL already exists, use it. To start over, remove it through the client's settings and add it again.

If your organization sign-in opens another tab, finish signing in there, return to Havilo, and select **Continue connecting**.

## My workspace is missing

Check which Havilo account you signed in with. That account needs an active membership in the workspace. Ask a workspace administrator for access if needed.

## Tools are missing

Enable Havilo for the current conversation. In ChatGPT, open Havilo's plugin settings, select **Refresh**, and start a new chat to load updated tools.

## The connection opens the wrong workspace

Ask the client to check your workspace with `workspace_whoami`. If it is wrong, disconnect Havilo and reconnect, choosing the intended workspace.

## A visible tool returns `Forbidden`

Ask the client to check `workspace_capabilities`. Your Havilo permissions determine which tools you can use. Ask a workspace administrator for any access you need.

Preview and apply may require different permissions. A successful preview does not guarantee that the same user may apply the mutation.

## An import preview fails

Check:

* the 4 MB and 5,000-row limits;
* that the first row contains unique headers;
* that `external_id_column` names a real column;
* that every mapped field belongs to the selected entity type;
* that every data row has a usable external ID;
* that the idempotency key uses only letters, numbers, `_`, `.`, `:`, or `-` and is at least eight characters.

## An import or AI run appears stuck

Call `jobs_get` with the returned job ID. Record the job status, progress, error and last activity.

If the logs do not explain the delay, send the job ID and workspace name to <support@havilo.ai>.

## Authentication starts failing

Confirm you can still access the workspace in Havilo, then reconnect. Removed memberships and revoked connections stop further access.
